About Laval

Laval is at the same time a region, a regional county municipality and a city. Located on the north shore of the Rivière des Prairies, across from Montreal, it is the third most populated city in Quebec. Laval has succeeded in combining the development of green spaces, shopping centers and residences as a major urban center. Agricultural areas make up a large part of the territory.
Notably with the ÉvoluCité project, Laval has a planned urban development policy, which contributes to the development of a sustainable city: public transit access, environment, housing. New metro stations (Cartier, De la Concorde and Montmorency) have served the city since 2007. In addition, an extension of the line has been announced for the coming years.
With its Technopole, world-renowned for the quality of its highly specialized research centers and businesses, the municipality attracts a significant number of immigrants every year. Employment prospects are optimistic, especially in new developing sectors such as business management, professional, scientific and technical services, health care and commerce.
Laval technopole has been taking up the challenge of Laval's development since its creation in 1995 and offers many services to Laval companies to support them in their business development. Companies are established in one of the following poles: the Biopôle, the e-Pôle, the Agropôle, the recreation and tourism pole and the Industrial pole. There are several services, with very different missions, but globally covering all the needs of the companies: real estate, coordination with the government and the municipality, installation follow-up, training, strategic support for companies experiencing difficulties, financing, government assistance, search for strategic partners, international representation, export strategy, reception of buyers, trade missions, etc.
